What is a Capture the Flag (CTF) Competition?
A Capture the Flag (CTF) competition in cybersecurity is an exciting and educational event where participants solve hacking-related challenges to earn points. Each challenge, when completed, reveals a “flag”—a piece of hidden information. The more flags your team captures, the more points you earn! The top three teams with the most points at the end of the competition will be rewarded with prizes.
What to Expect from BenchLabs CTF 2024
At Cybersec Netherlands 2024, our CTF competition will focus on two key areas:
- Web Application Security: Challenges related to the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, helping you explore and mitigate real-world risks.
- Network Forensics: Test your ability to analyze network traffic and uncover hidden clues.
The competition is designed at a beginner to mid-level difficulty, making it accessible for a wide range of participants, whether you’re just starting in cybersecurity or looking to hone your existing skills.

- Format: Jeopardy-style, with a bank of challenges for teams to choose from
- Team Size: 1 to 4 members per team
