Unique VR Game on Cybercrime at Cybersec Netherlands

Utrecht, September 19, 2024 – Cybersec Netherlands is launching a collaboration with Platform Veilig Ondernemen (PVO), the Municipality of Utrecht, and the Dutch Police. The goal is to give small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) the opportunity to experience the potential impact of cybercrime on their company. On the exhibition floor, there will be a unique virtual reality (VR) game that immerses visitors in the world of cybercrime. Additionally, the police will share their experiences with cybercrime in the Netherlands. Cybersec Netherlands will take place on November 6 and 7, 2024, at Koninklijke Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.

Trade Fair Highlights Importance of Cyber Resilience for Entrepreneurs

Mick den Dijker, Trade Fair Manager: “We are partnering with the police, the Municipality of Utrecht, and PVO to ensure that this edition offers enough resources for SMEs who want to get started with cybersecurity. Often, they don’t have a dedicated department with this expertise and are looking for practical solutions to make their business more resilient against cybercrime. One of the activities we are offering on the exhibition floor is the VR game, in which cybercrime plays a central role.” The VR game provides entrepreneurs with insight into the tactics used by cybercriminals. After playing the game, the different decision-making points are discussed, and entrepreneurs receive tips on how to avoid or minimize their risk of becoming victims. Platform Veilig Ondernemen will also present on the dangers of cybercrime and how businesses can protect themselves. The Dutch Police will share information and strategies on how law enforcement is combating cybercrime in the region.
